US Citizenship
Naturalization – N-400
PKorn Law assists with the U.S. citizenship application (N-400 / naturalization).
Contact us via email at pkorn@germanamericanlawyer.com to schedule your consultation where we will explain the entire process, go over all associated fees, and evaluate your eligibility to become a U.S. citizen.
- German citizens: Have you obtained your retention certificate (“Beibehaltungsurkunde)? This is no longer required since June 27, 2024!
- However, if you became a US citizen by naturalization between January 1, 2000 and June 26, 2024 without prior obtaining a retention certificate you automatically lost your German citizenship. We can assist you with the application to re-gain your German citizenship.
Before you apply for naturalization and become a U.S. citizen at the swearing-in ceremony, please be aware that in some countries, e.g. Germany (only between January 1, 2000 until June 26, 2024), Austria, you will automatically lose your (German) citizenship and passport, unless you have previously obtained a retention certificate (“Beibehaltungsgenehmigung”) from your home country.
